My Project
I plan on using the requested materials as a way of allowing my Algebra 1 and 2 students sharpen their mental math skills. As a math educator I recognize that students have become more dependent on calculators for basic computations. With this fun and engaging game (24), students will explore ways to make 24 using basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
When I was in elementary school I was exposed to the game 24 and it has drastically improved/solidified my ability to compute math without a calculator.
I would be elated to be able to expose my high school students to this admired resource. So please help me in my endeavor in finding fun ways to sharpen my students' mental math skills!
