My Students

HELP! We need dry erase boards to help us with remote learning and phonics instruction!

I teach in a diverse, low-income school in Queens NY in an ICT classroom where some students have special needs.

My students are a diverse group of learners whose families have been deeply affected from the coronavirus pandemic financially and emotionally. This current school year will be unlike any other. Many families do not have the means for basic supplies which are desperately needed whether in class learning or at home. To help make learning remotely easier for the little ones, I am requesting donations to purchase primary dry erase boards, so that my students can keep them home and use them when we are doing phonics instruction. This will help keep the students engaged and motivated to write on the dry erase boards.

My Project

The write and wipe boards, the write and wipe erasers, and the dry erase markers will be used for phonics instruction, quick and fun responses and without wasting so many notebook pages. These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will have fun using them when we play phonics games. The write and wipe boards also help keep the students more engaged in the lesson and share their responses quickly. It also gives me as the teacher the opportunity to easily assess the students work and responses.
