Remote Learning Support for Students With Disabilities

My Students
We are a middle school and high school that provides quality and rigorous individualized educational programs to students with significant challenges and diverse learning styles in a variety of settings that nurture independence, ensure dignity, and support integration into the community.
In our district , self-contained setting, these students require a large number of staff assistance.
This year's program, multiple classes of a total of approximately one hundred students have been learning photography skills.
They have limited emerging verbal skills or are non-verbal and use the assistance of communication device technology. In addition, the literacy skill level is emerging or around the grade level of pre-k yet they are in high school. There are also students who are non-readers. They are a diverse group with highly individual needs. The one thread that connects their abilities and interests is automation. They all respond very well to all types of electronic devices.
Photography levels the playing field in that it builds self-confidence and allows the kids to develop job readiness skills, express themselves in new ways and present their work to the community at large. The program is specifically designed to meet their special needs and promotes independence.
My Project
I would like to add these headphones with mics to my photography program. Previously, fully funded projects include iPads and cameras that accept these headsets. I would like to train my students on the audio aspects of video including online video meetings and Youtube. In addition, I created a Youtube channel featuring demonstrations, read alouds, fine art photography and video with poetry and I find the need for better audio support to deliver better quality to my students. The training will better support their remote learning component to the blended learning participants.
