My Students

I teach biology and physics to students with emotional impairments, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism that are pursuing a high school diploma. Every student has a disability that requires them to learn in a self-contained setting, most with specific learning disabilities or emotional impairments.

My 9th and 10th-grade science students are brilliant, strong young individuals that learn best through hands-on, project-based learning.

They face adverse circumstances daily and have the grit it takes to succeed. We are a Title I school in Boston with a specialized program to support these students!

My Project

Our special education 9th and 10th-grade students are working very hard this year, and we want to make sure that their efforts are celebrated whether they are with us or at home! This project will cover the PBIS program that I am developing to help students feel motivated, celebrated, and connected with one another while we are apart. Students will earn points in Class Dojo, which they can redeem for tangible items such as these, as well as fun activities with their classmates via Zoom. We're so excited to roll this out for them!
