This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school, located by the famous Bronx Zoo, is filled with the the laughter and smiles of our beautiful Pre-k to 8th grade students. But there are some children, our exceptional students, who face many obstacles and challenges at school and within their communities. This wonderful group of exceptional children won't let anything get in their way of learning and having fun while they do so.
Our pre-K to 8 school is comprised of the most amazing students who are determined to succeed academically regardless of any circumstances they may encounter in their lives, communities and school.
Many of our exceptional needs students must contend with various disabilities ranging from learning and speech delays to intellectual disabilities. They need support to help them succeed.
As part of a Title I school, the majority of these students' families have great financial needs. Our students are in need of basic services and qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Recognizing these needs, our teachers turn to donors like you to help us provide basic supplies for our children. Every donation directly helps these students!
My Project
The requested items, white board, eraser, and markers are to be used from my home location to provide instruction for students who will also be engaging in remote learning.
Distance learning is challenging for many students due to these uncertain times .
As educators, we need to provide them with the necessary tools that will keep them engaged in their learning to improve academic success. Tools such as the white board with markers will allow me to provide live instruction to my students who will be learning remotely. Having a board to write on will assist in demonstrating math problem solving, provide notes, sketches, create graphic organizers, and many other types of presentations to aid in student understanding.
