This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As of March 13, our school has been closed. Like many other schools, we all thought we would only be closed for 2-5 days for deep cleaning. Since then, our students have been distance learning from their homes. My students come from low-income families and do not have materials to continue their learning while at home. They are currently learning through ZOOM, apps, and websites. However, I also do not have access to many resources from my home to teach my students.

My Project

Teaching at home has become a new way of learning for both teachers and students. In order for my students to receive the best education they deserve, both my students and myself need some materials.

These essential items include dry erase boards, erasers and markers for the whole class for when we have our ZOOM meetings.

Every day we ZOOM together and I teach them lessons we are currently learning about. Many times, students need to write their answer down and share it with the class. Having a class set of dry erase boards will allow my students to not only save paper, but will help and motivate them for our ZOOM sessions.

This project also includes basic materials to help me run my "classroom" from home such as pens, a laptop stand and an iPad stylus pens. Using my finger to solve math problems on my iPad during our ZOOM meetings is difficult and isn't clear for my students. Having a stylus pen will allow my students to view answers more clearly.

All of these materials will help enhance my students learning so they are prepared for next year. My goal is to continue to provide the best quality of education for my students. Having these materials will help my students reach their goal.
