Remote Learning Devices Needed for Students

My Students

We are a K-7 school in an inner-city district in northern New Jersey. Our students are working remotely from home due to the pandemic. New Jersey is very hard hit and many students' families are greatly impacted.

We have students that are in need of technology devices so they can just do their school work.

Typically, inner-city school children lag behind their counterparts in suburban districts. Add to this the devastating impact of being out of school and sick family members and you can see how this can contribute to a greater deficit.

We are really trying to help our students, but we need support. Anything you can do to help, even just a little bit, will get us closer to changing the long term of a child's life.

My Project

Imagine being six years old and you are in the middle of a pandemic and you have to stay with a relative because your parent is an essential worker, or worse, sick! You've lost contact with your teacher...your friends. Your whole world is turned upside-down and you don't even understand why.

Getting a Chromebook into the hands of an isolated youngster can help provide some connection to what was once a normal day at school.

The teacher and student can use their laptops to remotely connect using video conferencing software. The youngsters can see each other on their computer screens. Now...imagine the smile on that child's face!
