Help me give my students notebooks, pencils, laminated personalized learning materials that I need to print and laminate so they can use as a dry erase board with their dry erase markers to help with their remote learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with the sweetest Special Needs students with severe cognitive intellectual and physical disabilities. Many have poor language skills, fine motor planning, and executive functioning skills. My students are from low socioeconomic families and cannot afford school supplies. Many of my families have lost their incomes and are struggling to provide basic needs for their families. All of my students qualify for free meals and half speak a language other than English. They come from different ethnic and social backgrounds. With this project, my students will be able to have the resources they need at home to be successful as we continue in Remote Learning in the fall. Our school will be a blended learning model and I will be teaching a Remote class in the fall. Despite the fact I now have a Google Classroom for remote teaching with access to slide presentations, video access, and opportunities for my students to see me in a video chat, it's not enough! They need materials at home too.
My students need basic school supplies to keep them learning remotely and engaged while continuing in distance learning.
My Project
It has been confirmed that our school will start the fall semester remotely. Most of my student's families chose to continue in remote learning to stay safe at home. This project will help ease the burden on families by sending supplies needed directly to the students for their learning. Many of my families are out of work, some live in shelters, and are struggling with providing basic needs for school.
This project will provide much-needed supplies into my students' hands so no student is without notebooks, pencils, dry erase markers, and personalized learning materials.
I will need to print various resources from Teachers Pay Teachers and materials for my students to use and write on at home. I will also have to print out the pages I need to model for my students during our virtual meetings. Students need these supplies in order to stay on track, engaged, and stay productive in our remote learning.
