This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school, located by the famous Bronx Zoo, is filled with the laughter and smiles of our beautiful PreK to 8th-grade students. But there are some children, our exceptional students, who face many obstacles and challenges at school and within their communities. This wonderful group of exceptional children won't let anything get in their way of learning and having fun while they do so.

Our PreK to 8 school is comprised of the most amazing students who are determined to succeed academically regardless of any circumstances they may encounter in their lives, communities, and school.

Many of our exceptional needs students must contend with various disabilities ranging from learning and speech delays to intellectual disabilities. They need support to help them succeed.

As part of a Title I school, the majority of these students' families have great financial needs. Our students are in need of basic services and qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Recognizing these needs, our teachers turn to donors like you to help us provide basic supplies for our children. Every donation directly helps these students!

My Project

The requested items are to be used for students who will be engaging in remote learning. Distance learning is challenging for many students due to these uncertain times and they can use tools that will make this process easier. Tools such as a stylus for use on their school assigned touch screen laptops and iPads will make responding to assignments much easier and precise than drawing with their finger. Thumb drives will be used to back up work. Online music courses can take place with individually owned recorders that will not need to be shared with others. Most important are the blue light glasses to protect their sensitive eyes from prolonged blue light exposure from using their digital devices during instruction.
