This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn new things and savvy enough to figure out how to do it with minimal resources. They have found ways to navigate distance learning and are continuing to show dedication and perseverance through it all.
They make me proud to stand in front of them and push me to give more of myself each time I do.
As we continue this new method of instruction, they continue to be inquisitive, supportive and grounded in ways that amaze me daily!
My Project
School instruction is successful partly because we have specific tools for each subject. I want to create bags for students to have a set of materials at home to make our instruction more seamless. There are clipboards which allow Kindergarten students to sit away from a desk when completing independent work. Math mats and counters are key when discovering numbers and being able to manipulate them. Cubes reinforce this work as well.
The right materials motivate and engage students in ways that regular items from home simply do not.
The photo cases will house their sight word index cards, and the bags will allow for safekeeping of materials when at home.
