My Students
We learn together at an inquiry-based school in Philadelphia. We are a classroom that includes all ranges of learners and abilities. It's truly a community because of its small size and really allows us to be a family. Our kids are inquisitive. They love learning and being involved in all sorts of activities. They are creative and funny.
We love to challenge them to take ownership of their learning and they are always ready to respond and make it happen.
We try to rise to the occasion and discover new ways to learn and we try new things to help make that happen. We are a group that really tries to be the best people we possibly can. I wouldn't trade these kids for the world because they are all really unique. We are really bonded by our sense of community and our belief in our core values of inquiry, investigation, collaboration, presentation, and reflection.
My Project
We've decided that we would like to have a pan advisory activity where all of our students read the book "Stamped". At Science Leadership Academy Middle School, we're actively seeking to root our advisory program through a lens of anti-bias and anti-racism work. We want to help our students by providing them with their own personal copy of the book so that we can help them create a home library. This book will help our students lay out the foundation for our ABAR work in a way that is relatable to them. As we are all students of HISTORY, we feel that it is important for history to be presented through multiple perspectives. Each student will be provided with a copy of the book to read at home while we work together in our advisory classes.
