My Students
My class consists of approximately 20% girls and 80% boys. They are mostly from Hispanic and Black ethnic groups and lower-income communities. There is a zeal for learning despite the circumstances that they are faced with. Some have emotional, social, and/or academic circumstances that are limiting. The ESL and students with special academic needs receive services in order to assist them in the learning process.
These students need to be prepared to compete in an ever-changing world that is technology driven and requires individuals who can represent any organization with dignity.
They want to be successful and are challenged to be successful.
My Project
Students in my class engage in reading, math, and science learning each day. These core subjects are tested at the state level at the end of each academic year. Whole group teaching does not prove effective for all students.
It is necessary for me to have small group remediation sessions to meet the needs of the students who did not grasp concepts taught in whole group.
These beautiful, comfortable stools will allow me to meet with my students and review strategies and standards. The reams of paper requested will also allow me to prepare review packets to further my students' learning.
