Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Technology would help with those that struggle with reading, those that need more from reading, and those that want to unlock a whole new universe through reading.
98% of my students are at-risk of failing and two grade levels below.
However, everyday all my students are on time and eager to learn. My classroom has a wide range of reading abilities which make it hard to target each students needs. My highest students need technology to complete research projects and create various other projects.
My Project
The tablets will be used for interactive lessons during reading, language and social studies. Our level readers have an audio component that will help my students listen to reading and pronounce words. 50% percent of my students are transitioning from Spanish to English and need help with vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. The tablets will help make my scholars independent learners and take charge of their own learning.
This donation will help my students stay in engaged while enriching their academic learning experiences.
Some of my students will not have the opportunity to engage with technology outside the classroom. I want to ensure ALL students have the same opportunities to work with the appropriate resources.
