My school is a Title One school in south Seattle. The population at our school is very diverse. I have big groups of boys and girls who LOVE graphic novels. The students are energetic and excited to read. I also have students that don’t want to read. Graphic novels are a great way to get students interested in reading.
My students are excited about new books, especially GRAPHIC NOVELS!
I’d like to get the most current graphic novels and replace some others that are completely falling apart.
My Project
Struggling readers are often embarrassed by their reading levels. Graphic novels can help get students excited about reading. Many of my classes that come into the library ask for certain graphic novels. The popular ones, Babysitters Club and Sports Illustrated Kids, are usually falling apart or are damaged, and I don’t have the budget for replacements.
The graphic novels would be well loved, and the students would be so excited to see new ones on the shelves.
Students will want to read, therefore improving their reading levels! It’s a win-win! Please consider donating to this project. The kids will love them! Thank you!
