My students need 1 pocket chart and 1 pocket chart stand, and a 30-book collection with a stand.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. H's classroom raised $989

I teach English as a Second Language to little people, from PK to 5th grade. Ours is one of the higher performing schools in the city. That's quite an achievement considering most of our students live in poverty.
Supplies are limited due to budget cuts. Yet ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students need materials to "catch up." With the right supplies, they can do it.
There's nothing like watching a child's face light up as they follow the pages of a good book, or the pride they feel when they compose a simple sentence and start writing their own stories. A collection of books, of new books, will set them afire. They'll devour them. Good literature draws them in and doesn't let them go. They'll read the same book over and over again. And the more they read the better readers they become. Pocket charts, that they can use to compose sentences from words written on index cards, can help them build word knowledge and grammar skills. The pocket chart is effective because it's an easy way for the whole class to participate and learn.
My students have more disadvantages than they realize. Five dollar field trips -- something most of us take for granted -- can be taxing on their families. Too often books are not a priority in their homes, yet children will borrow the few I have in my room and relish them, eager to stash them in their backpacks to take home. Your help will ensure that they get some of the advantages they deserve. These materials will make it enjoyable for them to continue their journey of learning.
More than half of students from low‑income households
