My Project

I'm in need of funding for some grieving supplies so my students can put together some grief kits that will include activities for other students or adults who experience grief. This can be done at school and at home. At my school and in my own class there are many families affected by tragic losses due to COVID-19 and other tragedies. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a targeted take-home intervention that can engage the entire family? This includes a stress reliever ball, a necklace-making craft utilizing beads, and big bubbles to include joy into their lives, which will be included in the kit. The kit will also have a beautiful book, The Memory Box: A Book About Grief to help kids and their families begin their healing journeys.

These materials will provide valuable information and supplies for helping students and their families process and heal from the presence of grief in their lives.

If funded, my students will pack together these supplies into take-home drawstring bags, which will include printed materials and instructions for the activities, reading materials, and projects. From this project, my students will learn to help out others in need within their school community. They also will put their compassion in action. This project requires my students working together since they'll work in an assembly line. Thank you in advance for your support.
