My Students

I am lucky to work with some of the very best students around. We have a diverse student body and with that are eager and ready to learn. They are funny, smart, and creative! I love the engagement and excitement my students show towards learning.

My Project

Reading comprehension has a great impact on a students overall education experience. The book sets that I have chosen will help students learn characterization, empathy, elements of literature, critical thinking and many other skills with conflicts that many students are struggling with today. Bud Not Buddy, addresses issues of acceptance and prejudice, while A Long Walk to Water addresses Refugees and the struggle to fit in.

Graphic novels are a great resource for differentiating.

Students love to have a choice so I have chosen several different graphic novels that address many of the struggles students are facing today, while using topics that students are interested in.
