My Project
One of the favorite spots in my classroom is the Cozy Corner, filled with a rug, some pillows, and a coffee table. During Silent Reading, it is crowded with students curled up with a book. Unfortunately, it is not nearly big enough to fit all the students who want to be in the space. I would love to provide options for students throughout the classroom that provide the same comfy feeling as that Cozy Corner, to encourage the idea that reading is a joy, not a punishment.
Comfortable seating options in the classroom, like bean bags and floor cushions, will create a more inviting and dynamic learning environment, allowing my students to choose seating that best supports their focus and comfort.
My goal for this project is to provide an inclusive and comfortable space where every student feels empowered to participate and succeed. By creating an environment that supports their physical and emotional needs, I aim to help students develop a love for learning and build the skills they need to thrive both academically and personally.
What makes my students special is the creativity, curiosity, and strong sense of community they bring to the classroom. They are eager to learn and to support one another, and I want to provide them with a classroom environment that respects their individuality and fosters their potential. By giving them the opportunity to choose seating that makes them feel comfortable, I believe I can help them tap into their best selves and continue to grow as learners and as people.
