Help me give my students two raised beds with trellis and gardening soil to create a garden outside of our elementary library. These resources will help create a calming area where students can sit and read.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have over one hundred fifth graders who will be transitioning to middle school in June, 2024. They are eager to create a nice space to enjoy and to leave behind for the younger students to use as a calming area or reading areas. They have noticed that when special needs students are upset, they don't have an area where they can have some space to calm down or just relax while reading quietly. They want to engage in assembling the flower beds, requesting donations from flowers local nurseries to make a relaxing garden area in our school. Students will engage in keeping the area clean, and in planting beautiful plants in the flower beds in order to decorate and create a wonderful area for students, staff, and parents to enjoy when they visit our library.
