My Project
I teach at a Title 1 school, where our biggest struggle every year, is meeting reading goals. We practice fluency daily, assess weekly, and constantly offer support in this area. I want to try a new approach and focus on showing my students the joy they could experience through reading. I want to give them a place to read that will be exciting and relaxing for them. These flexible wobble cushions, floor seats and bleacher seats will promote student engagement and comfort while reading. This can lead to improved focus and a more positive reading experience.
These students need to truly understand the purpose of reading and the magic they can uncover.
I want to give my students this magic and understanding. I am tired of pushing them toward fluency instead I want to push them toward reading and let the fluency develop.
