Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
CLaSS Program provides social and/or behavioral services for students who are able to function academically in the less restrictive setting, but require social and/or behavioral support in order to facilitate the development of socially appropriate behaviors. My students are attending general education classes where the instruction is on grade level. Some experience stress when the learning becomes challenging, and a great way for them to relax is to use sensory "toys", plushies or other items just as the weighted puppy, that soothe them. The stretchy bands are attached to the students' chairs so that the students can fidget and self-regulate without distracting others. The white noise machine provides background sounds/music which also acts as a tool to calm the listeners. As they relax, they are able to focus on the work and learn with the rest of the class. I will use the laminating film, velcro, rubber cement and construction paper and cardstock to prepare individual schedules to help my students with transitions. The stickers will be used as incentives to reward good work. Please help my students succeed and ensure that their learning is enjoyable, relaxing and focused!
