My Project
This project is all about snacks and taking care of basic felt needs. At first glance maybe not the thing you associate as significant for educational spaces, but if we look deeper we realize caring for the physical needs of students supports each person's humanity, offers moments of nourishment and encouragement, and is foundational for empowerment and agency. Investing holistically in students creates powerful and liberating educational experiences. A quote I find motivating from wild faith emphasizes that "Making someone feel seen, heard and understood is the loudest way to love them." Love can be one of the greatest catalysts towards future success. When students feel seen, valued, and cared for they produce stronger academic outcomes.

Snacks can be a love language for many adolescents as well as a community builder, sitting around a table of food together is often magical in building connections. So, we are committed to snacks at Advisory class, Pack meetings, and throughout the day. Continued budget cuts make it difficult to keep our pantry full. By funding this project, you will help us accomplish powerful educational spaces that grow from relationship centered need-meeting where our students are seen and cared for.
