it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember reading a book on a Kindle reader for the first time? The majority of my students have not yet had the opportunity to witness the vibrant colors of an e-reader nor the interactive apps available on such technology.
My students are goal-oriented, ambitious, hardworking scholars.
Our school is an inner-city school located in Texas with the majority of our students being at-risk and from a high-need community. Despite the many obstacles they may face, my students remain motivated and eager to learn daily.
My Project
I am requesting 5 Kindle Fire e-readers. It is my goal to create life-long, technology-loving learners. With these e-readers in the classroom, it will surely entice even the reluctant readers of the classroom. These e-readers will allow my students to engage in interactive books during small group/guided reading instruction and independent reading time. Through the many educational apps, students will be engaged in many interactive activities during workstations. Through this technology, reading will become more meaningful, engaging, and interactive.
It is my hope that you will see what fun reading can be for my students with this new technology.
Because of donors like you, my students recently have had a taste of technology on an iPad from a previously funded project but using one iPad in a classroom of 25 can be very challenging. Adding these additional Kindles will allow more students to have an opportunity to use the technology daily. My goal is to have all my readers Re-Kindle their love for reading through the use of e-readers.
