Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Kindergarten students love counting! We count throughout the day, by ones and tens, from one to twenty, and all the way to one hundred. Rekenreks will help my students to be more engaged in counting.
Kindergarten students need lots of experiences with counting in order to master the skill of counting.
The rekenreks will help to provide my student with hands on materials to help them practice counting in lots of different ways.
Manipulatives, such as rekenreks, help students learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning in math. Hands on tool will help them grow as mathematicians!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
