My Students
My students love school. It's a place where they feel safe and encouragehere school is where it is okay to dream and explore. Math, especially, is their favorite subject area. Help me make it a fun and challenging experience.
The students for whom you are donating today are a group of 28 energetic and tenacious 4th graders in Harlem, New York.
They come from tough home situations (low-income homes, one-parent home, homeless shelters and foster homes) yet every morning they come in with a bright smile and an eagerness to learn.
My Project
While my students work really hard because, as our class motto goes, they want to get smart...super smart. Today, you are donating for us to get a series of math games meant to target, reinforce, and challenge math skills such as solving work problems, basic division and multiplication facts, and interpersonal skills. These games will be used during center time, which happens for 45 minutes each day. The games will help keep my students engaged and make math an exciting learning experience.
My class math goal this school year is that everyone of my students will make at least a year and a half progress at year's end, essentially leaving fourth grade at or above grade level.
