This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help us provide students who struggle with food insecurity with a safe place to receive snacks. Snacks also provide students with positive reinforcements for active classroom participation. We have noticed an increase of student participation in answering verbal questions when asked to respond to a prompt that they have written in their composition books and after they have shared with their small groups. Snacks also help students suffering from food insecurity and who are too shy or embarrassed to eat at the communal cafeteria. Composition books are needed for student classroom assignments and journaling.
