My Project
My students have a range of academic, social, cognitive, and emotional functioning. They require specialized instruction and accommodations to access the curriculum. Despite these classifying descriptors, they are some of the most determined, charismatic, enthusiastic, and caring young people.
They deserve every chance they can get.
Our school has a very diverse population. We have students that come from two-parent homes, while others are in foster care or group homes. We have students whose parents are financially stable while others live in government-subsidized housing. We aim to create a haven for all of our students and help them succeed.
This project will help equip them with tools so they can regulate within the classroom. The fidget tools will allow them to find ways to redirect their thinking while doing a variety of tasks. The headphones will allow individual students to have access to sounds and music for regulation. The smelling oil tubes can help regulate if that specific sense is dysregulated.
