This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a self-contained intensive Autism classroom. My students are 3 and 4 years old, and receive special education services due to a diagnosis of moderate to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have a total of 7 students this year, and while we have a lot of fun in our classroom, our materials need a little refresher. I have been teaching for over 22 years, so a lot of the materials in my classroom are starting to fall apart, or become outdated.
I would love to be able to give my students a new set of toys and materials in order to encourage language and collaboration during play.
I am asking for a variety of different kinds of materials for each area of my room such as dramatic play, sensory toys, and classroom furniture. My students in my classroom will absolutely love the mermaid and fairy play sets, as well as the doll house and doll furniture and they will love the sports themed sensory balls and pretend play kitchen, and all my students will be excited to have a variety of new things to explore and play with.
