Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
There has been a lot of movement within the district due to budget cuts, and my classroom needs a refresh for the upcoming school year. All the items will ensure to create a welcoming and clean environment to start our school year off. Some of the items will help refresh supplies so we start the school year off fully stocked.
With these items I hope to create a classroom environment that will foster learning and risk taking all year long.
The carpet and seat sacks will be used to create an welcoming and organized environment for my students. The paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be used to ensure we have a clean and safe classroom environment. The bandaids will limit the amount of times students need to go to the nurse for minor issues like a papercut which will result in them not missing key parts of lessons. The last three items dry eraser markers, pencil grips and cap erasers will replenish student supplies to keep their learning going!
Most of my students are English Language Learners that come from working families so creating a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming and prepared for learning to happen is extremely important. Without additional funding from the district teachers are unable to provide extra materials and to refresh materials that have been overused.
