Reflex Math to the Rescue

My students need help to gain fluency with their basic math facts, addition/subtraction and multiplication/division. This is an engaging program that allows kids to gain fluency quickly and with lots of fun.

My Students

Our school is a focus school. This means it is a high needs school, but we do not meet the qualifications to be a Title I school. Our students are provided with a free breakfast every morning. At least 60% receive free or reduced lunch as well.

We have a high military and Hispanic population.

Families often work long hours and the students complete their homework and activities by themselves. They are absolutely hard working and devoted students that love learning and coming to school every day. Knowing that teachers are paying attention to them and helping them succeed makes a difference in their lives.

My Project

We used a free trial of the Reflex Math program for one month. The difference in just one month of use was amazing. My students gained fluency in their math facts and actually loved using the program. Instead of using flashcards, this program helps children to learn the connection between inverse operations and as a result, they gain fluency. Knowing basic math facts helps students in all aspects of math, to no longer have to focus so much on the computation when approaching a problem and instead, they can dig deeper into the critical thinking of how to solve the problem. My students went from an average of 2 fluent facts to 120 fluent facts in just one month. Imagine if we were able to use this program for an entire year!
