This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class of second graders is an English Language Learners class. These students come from a highly transient area where almost 90% of them qualify for free or reduced lunch.
These students are hardworking, happy and eager to learn, even though their home lives are less than ideal and often very unstable or uncertain.
I want to give them every opportunity I can to help them learn and succeed in second grade and beyond. This program will help ensure that they have mastered their basic math skills.
My Project
This computer program will help my students see what facts they know and which ones they still need to learn. Using this program will help them set goals and it will help them see their proficiency increase in a very concrete way.
My students are working on mastering their math facts, and this computer program will help them accomplish that in a fun and engaging way.
My students will love using this program and it will really help them to master their math facts. Knowing their math facts is an essential skill to mastering the rest of second grade math and beyond!
