I serve a wonderful group of students at my 6th-8th grade middle school as their school librarian. My students are curious, opinionated, and empathetic. They represent a range of neighborhoods and wards from across Washington, DC.
My students are avid readers who enjoy reading books that represent their culture, community, and life experiences.
Theses books entertain and help them learn about others and grow as individuals.
My students enjoy reading realistic fiction and desire print books that they can add to their personal libraries at home. These books reflect events that are relatable, taking place in the world and narratives that they can relate to. We are also requesting book covers to keep these books in good shape and bookmarks to use while reading.
