My Project

As a white teacher, I can't always understand fully the backgrounds and experiences of my different students.

Often the literature we read in schools reflects white, middle class culture, so I try really hard to bring in diverse, representative literature to help all my students feel seen.

The Poet X is just such a book. It does a great job of addressing important, relevant topics for students, and it is also accessible for students reading at different levels.

I would love to be able to have my students read this book, so I would appreciate your help!
