This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 1st and 2nd grade students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing at a Title I school. These students have already overcome so many obstacles and are on the road to becoming successful students in their own ways. My students come from various backgrounds and live all over the Los Angeles area, and some even in multi-family homes. Many of my students are very underprivileged and are not able to experience very much outside of what they are taught at school. My goal as an educator is to provide my students with the most experience-filled learning I can. I want my students to look back and remember everything they learned in my classroom, not only through a textbook but through many other learning experiences. During these difficult times it has been very difficult for all our students to adjust and continue to learn.

My Project

As we enter the second half of the school year, some of our supplies are running low. We need these to continue learning through expression and experiences. These supplies will help us continue to do so. Many of these supplies run out quickly. We have growing minds in our classroom and like to be very hands on when it comes to learning. Since coming off of distance learning we are trying to take thing back to the old school pen and paper type of learning. We create art projects weekly to help us express ourselves and relate them to thematic units.

These supplies will help restock our classroom for a part of the remaining year.

Our Art supplies are starting to run low as we frequently use them. Dry erase markers will be used daily during lessons and in small groups. We use our classroom printer that was also a donors choose donated item to print out worksheets for our daily word work. Our ink supply is running low as well as our classroom paper supply.

With your kind and generous donations I can continue to provide my students with the best learning experience in our classroom.
