My Project
I am requesting a variety of holiday books for our classroom bookshelf. I have been teaching for 30 years and I have accumulated a lot of books over the years. A few years ago our school suffered a fire and I lost my entire classroom. My classroom library still hasn't fully recovered.
I am asking for holiday books because that is an area that is lacking. I love to read aloud holiday stories to my students. Reading aloud gets the kids motivated to read the books on their own. Once the kids read the books, they take comprehension tests on the stories.
I have also requested Christmas chapter books. At Christmas, I make sure every student picks a new book to add to their library.
