Reducing Anxiety in Math Class

Help me give my students wobble chairs, device storage, and art supplies to promote mental health in the math classroom.

My Project

The high school math classroom can be a stressful place for many students. My goal is to provide items that can help reduce my students' anxiety so that they can be more successful in math class.

A student who is calm can better focus on topics that are being taught than one who is feeling anxious and overwhelmed.

Wobble chairs will help students who need movement to stay focused and meet their sensory needs. Providing access to mindfulness coloring books and art supplies will allow students to take a brain break to reduce stress if needed. Calm Strips and motivational cards will help me provide a boost to students who are struggling and need extra support.

In addition, a cell phone charging station will help me encourage students to make good choices with their devices. Students who are fully present in the classroom and not distracted by their device are more likely to succeed. I want students to feel comfortable and supported in their math classroom, and these supplies will help me to accomplish that goal. Thank you for your consideration!
