This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Dry erase problem-solving and collaborative routines and procedures are daily expectations in my 4th grade bilingual classroom. Having them gives my students the flexibility to work from their seats or come to the rug for guided practice, the structure of breaking down language barriers across subject areas through tactically and visually modeled strategies for them to record and, most importantly, the medium to share their thinking verbally and visually with their neighbors!
Hands-on materials are essential to a young mind learning to self-monitor.
Your donation would help breathe life into otherwise "lecture-y" lessons, help reduce bilingual students' cognitive load, and allow my co-teachers and I to better guide them through the process.
