Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are familiar with seeing people in their community recycle out of necessity, but they know nothing about recycling to protect our EARTH. I need your help to make them more aware of this important issue!

I have a class of 22 energetic kindergarten students.

My class is composed of 11 boys and 11 girls. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area of South Los Angeles. We are considered a Title 1 school because 95 to 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students attend before and after school programs where they get help with homework in a safe environment.

My Project

The recycling books, Environment Take-Home pack and Science File Folder Games will help my students become more aware of why we should recycle to protect our Earth. I will be able to use these resources to plan recycling lessons and my students will be able to use hands-on materials to get a better understanding of why recycling is so very important for their future. The sand table cover will make it possible for my students to protect their recycling and environmental projects from the elements.

Your support of this project will bring awareness to a topic that my students have no idea about.

The resources requested will help me to present this important topic in kid-friendly terms.
