This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are young four and five year olds. The age, development, and lack of core strength can make it hard for some of them to sit and attend during instructions, Story Time, and Circle Time. When they are having difficulty paying attention and start moving around, they miss out on learning opportunities and it is distracting for the other students as well.
Wiggle Cushions and fidget toys offer them the ability to wiggle and pay attention at the same time.
These cushions and toys are made available for students to choose as a sensory option that helps them function more successfully in the classroom. When sitting on these cushions or holding these squeezable toys, students get the movement they need, strengthen weak core and fine motor muscles, and participate more actively in class activities.
