My Project

Redcat Brew is turning our café kitchen into a welcoming community space where people of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds can learn, work, and feel at home. We purchased equipment and adaptive tools to remove barriers, enabling everyone to participate in hands-on cooking and barista activities. Our program expands job and volunteer opportunities, hosts adaptive and sensory‑friendly workshops, and provides safe, friendly meals and coffee. With donor support, we help people belong, build skills, and bring our community closer, one cup at a time.

We never imagined our first project would receive funding, so when it did, we were overjoyed.

We now need one final essential component to complete our school café: a refrigerator. A fridge will allow students to safely store perishable ingredients, practice real food‑safety routines, expand the range of meals and snacks they prepare, and run the student‑led coffee cart more professionally.

Goals:

Expand access and participation by enabling safe storage of fresh ingredients and accommodating adaptive tools and workspaces for learners of all abilities.

Build job skills by providing practical training in food preparation, barista work, and customer service that aligns with workplace expectations.

Foster inclusive programming by making adaptive cooking classes and community meals possible with fresh ingredients.

Strengthen community connection by helping our student team serve more varied meals and beverages during events.

My students are eager and determined. Many haven’t had chances to learn these practical skills before, but their curiosity, patience, and teamwork help them make steady progress and feel proud. With the refrigerator, they’ll gain confidence in food safety, ingredient preparation, and small‑café operations, real‑world experience that supports future employment and community engagement.

Please help us complete our school café with a refrigerator so Redcat Brew can continue to teach, employ, and welcome everyone who walks through our doors.
