it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have unlimited potential as mathematicians! I will use these math materials each day with small groups of 4th and 5th graders to help them build the skills they need to succeed at the highest level possible. The number lines and regrouping kits will make it possible to not only perform the mathematics but make sense of the mathematics. This is critical as they build the skills necessary for middle and high school math.
These math resources will give students the supportive tools to reach their potential and set a foundation for future math success.
Covid-19 has affected our students disproportionately because online learning was often not the easiest and most accessible for our families. This is especially true in mathematics where our students needed hands-on experiences to build an understanding of foundational skills and operational fluency.
