Red for the Vowels Makes a Dyslexic Child Read Better...
Help me give my students a chance to read, even if they have a learning disability. By having a color printer I can make resources with color coding words which help children with dyslexia, ESOL and other LD.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been a Special Education teacher for a while now and I have seen the research and the advances in studies on children with disabilities. I am now working on a Title 1 school and am limited to the resources I can offer my Special Education Students. Some of my students do not have a computer at home and their parents cannot print out worksheets and resources to help them.
One strategy that has worked with students with Dyslexia, is breaking the words apart into different colors.
For example, the vowels in red. This helps the brain read the word. A color printer would facilitate this when making resources. By having the printer, I can print resources for each student, and they can each have their own color-coded resource to use when teaching the reading strategies.
