Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are requesting a new washer and dryer machine to assist with ensuring our scholars have clean uniforms for athletics and in some cases, clean clothes for the day. The washer and dryer we previously had was graciously donated around the time our building was completed. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to repair or replace this machine and we have been exploring multiple options for the past few months to no avail.
Having a washer and dryer allows us to help our students who may be going through difficult times at home and need to launder their clothes as well.
Our students come from various countries and backgrounds and all embrace the spirit of multiculturality. At our campus, students are taught to be leaders in the quest for social justice, but to do this they need to be empowered with the appropriate tools (and clean clothes!) to take on the world. Please consider supporting our students.
