My students need interactive vocabulary building games. Since they are ELL, these games will help link new language to background knowledge.

My Students
How would you feel if you were expected to come to school and do grade level work, when you can barely speak the language?
Some are immigrants, some are refugees, and some were born here but are raised by non-English speaking parents.
My kids are exquisite. They work incredibly hard to learn this language and stay on grade level. It's more difficult for them because they don't possess the language to complete work
My Project
I've requested vocabulary sets and grammar games. While my students are in guided reading groups--they will be able to use these items to continually enhance their understanding of the English language. The games will actively engage them--which will help them retain what they've learned!
It will improve my classroom by providing more resources for my kiddos to learn English.
They're fantastic kids--but it isn't fair if they don't have activities that meet them on their level. These games will allow them to create a deeper understanding.
