Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At our low-income, high-poverty school, I can experience first hand the impact of the arts on kids. We try to give our students the experience of music education. Currently, we offer general music and band.
Occasionally, our students will have sung in the choir at church or have learned to rap through friends and family, but only a few have touched a musical instrument.
Our school is unique, a small school in the heart of the Bronx. We serve from 6th to 12th grades.
They are vibrant students who are eager to learn and to experience the world. I am hoping to continue encouraging our scholars to be creative in a positive manner and help develop their love of the arts.
My Project
We have got a new Mac with the kindness of our donors.
To be able to record instruments and listen to our recording we are asking to your kindness again so we can get speakers and an interface.
With those materials we will able to work on a final project that will involve recording and listen back in a studio level music.
Our kids are very talented and they absolutely deserve to be able to be creative and have this beautiful experience.
