My Project
Unlike other forms of filmmaking, documentaries focus on real people, places, and events, and the stories that emerge from them. Each day, our amazing students from all walks of life are presented with a unique opportunity to learn the craft and language of nonfiction storytelling. The stories they create in our community have the power to generate empathy and help us all see things from other's perspectives. Documentary places a mirror to our society... which is why it is such an important part of our student's film curriculum.
Although our students learn the technical skills required to creatively tell stories through documentary, they lack access to many of the fundamental tools of the industry.
Every student documentarian deserves access to quality sound recording equipment. Our students depend on mobile audio recorders as they aim to capture sound in a variety of environments and recording situations, using a range of sound recording techniques. Whether its interviews, voiceovers, reenactments, or direct field recordings - capturing clear, clean audio ensures a smooth rhythmic flow of both sound and visuals.
We have a few mixers, but not enough for student groups to share. Please help us place this important sound recording tool into the hands of an additional crew of student filmmakers.
