My Students
My classroom consists of students with various reading abilities. In order to differentiate to meet this challenge, we need supplies that will enable small interact with technology effectively. Due to our school being a Title I school, many students face disadvantages in learning. Approximately three-fourths of our student receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Many of of my students have been identified as struggling readers via test scores.
These students enjoy learning; However, they are learning at a slower pace than their peers.
My students truly need to be able to read ebooks independently without distracting others. The use of headphones will enable students listen to their ebooks and move forward to other books with the sounds of various stories being read aloud at once. The use of headphones will provide the quiet environment students seek when reading.
My Project
All of my student want to read better. Currently only one ebook can be read aloud at a time. This sometimes lessen the amount of ebooks which can be heard in a given day. When students can listen to ebooks without restriction of sound distractions they are more eager to read at leisure. Students know that they can read after finishing the assignments. Being able to listen and record stories will increase how students respond to text.
My students are excited to know they will receive headphones.
Several ebooks have already been selected by each student in anticipation of receiving headphones in the near future.
My class has decided they will challenge each other to read and respond to the most books. The excitement for reading has already heightened with our class.
