Recorders needed for Music Class

My students need 100 recorders for their music class.

My Students

My students love to play instruments and my third graders are eager to play recorder this year.

My school is in a rural economically challenged area in Middle Georgia.

We are a Title I school and many of my students' family members are unable to provide an instrument for their students. I have had success using recorders in my classroom and would like to provide that opportunity for my students again this year.

My Project

I use a program called Recorder Karate. The students learn 9 songs and with each song learned they earn a belt to tie onto their recorder. They also have their name listed on a progress board outside the music classroom to show the school their successes. This is a highly motivational curriculum that the students really enjoy. It makes learning fun!

Every year I have done my best to provide recorders for students.

By having instruments available for all of my 3rd grade students and making any extras available to the upper grade students who need one, these students will have the necessary supplies to learn. Having these recorders available provides an environment that allows students not to be ashamed of their inability to buy an instrument. My students are eager to learn and your consideration & support of this project is appreciated.
