This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sewing is a new learned skilled for me as an artist and I found how essential it is to teach others how to utilize a sewing machine. It's a hobby and skill that has become forgotten or sacred. I want to lead a classroom that can rely on their sewing skill to alter their clothing, repair clothing and provide inclusive education. Factors that go into sewing that is valuable in life are hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, attention to details, sustainability, occupational therapy, confidence and more.

Composing school murals led by students is another project I'm engaging students in.

Creating a mural led by students will bring a beginning of new breath to campus. Students have the opportunity to engage the school community to voice the needs of the community. Students are passion and ready to brighten their school walls and create a culture that students that will once walk can participate in.
