This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having friends is the key to living an enjoyable life. It helps combat feelings of loneliness and isolation while building confidence and self-worth. Friends can help you navigate through difficult times with words of encouragement and an empathetic ear. Building friendships creates a sense of belonging. Students who feel accepted are more likely to be present and engaged.

Smile, listen, and share three simple ingredients for making and keeping meaningful friendships.

Please help me give my students the tools they need to break the ice. They need a storage cart and snacks. As newcomers, many of my students experience feelings of anxiety and depression. Adjusting to a new way of life can be daunting. We can help them by creating opportunities for interaction. Conversations and a snack can be a great starting point. Students can enhance their communication and language skills, understand and appreciate different cultures and traditions and show genuine care for one another.
